Position Overview
On behalf of Sublime Air Conditioning Pty Ltd, a specialist in air conditioning ductwork manufacturing, prefabrication, and installation, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Sheetmetal Worker to join their team in Smithfield, New South Wales.

The ideal candidate will have practical sheet metal fabrication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read technical drawings. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal components for air conditioning and ventilation systems while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and workplace safety. Position Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Review engineering drawings, ductwork plans and project specifications to determine fabrication requirements, installation methods, material quantities and production processes for air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Select and prepare suitable sheet metal materials, including galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium, ensuring compliance with specified dimensions, thicknesses and quality standards for ductwork production.
- Measure, mark out and calculate sheet metal dimensions for the manufacture of air ducts, fittings, transitions, bends and other air movement components in accordance with technical drawings.
- Cut sheet metal to required sizes and configurations using guillotines, shears, power tools and other specialised cutting equipment to meet project specifications and production schedules.
- Form and shape sheet metal components using folding machines, rollers,



presses and related fabrication equipment to produce duct sections and fittings for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- Assemble and join fabricated ductwork components using appropriate fastening, riveting, welding, sealing and other joining techniques to ensure accurate construction and effective airflow performance.
- Inspect finished ductwork and fabricated components for dimensional accuracy, workmanship and compliance with quality requirements, carrying out necessary trimming, smoothing, finishing and adjustments before dispatch or installation.
- Collaborate with production staff, site installation teams, supervisors and other trades to coordinate ductwork fabrication and installation activities, ensuring components are manufactured and supplied in accordance with project drawings and deadlines.
- Install, position, align and secure sheet metal ductwork and associated fittings at construction sites, following approved installation procedures, project requirements and workplace health and safety standards.
- Identify and rectify fabrication or installation defects, modify ductwork components where necessary, and maintain a safe and organised work environment while contributing to continuous improvements in manufacturing quality, productivity and installation efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Relevant qualifications,
- 2 years of relevant working experience;
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in fabrication and installation.

Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
