Law Image is seeking an IT Applications Developer & Systems Support Specialist to support and enhance the systems, applications and technical workflows that underpin our legal document production services.

We produce complex legal document sets for the legal profession, including Court Books, Appeal Books, Counsel and Expert Witness Briefs, and Tender Bundles. Our work relies on specialised software, internally developed applications and reliable technology to ensure documents are compiled, processed and delivered accurately and on time.

About the role

This role offers an prospect to apply your programming and technical skills in a specialised business environment, working with established applications and developing practical solutions that improve our systems, automate processes and support our production teams.

Key responsibilities:

- Application development: Develop, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance internally developed applications, utilities and workflow tools used in legal document production.
- Systems and application support: Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting software applications, workstations, production equipment and connected systems.
- Workflow automation: Identify opportunities to streamline document processing, reduce repetitive manual tasks and improve production efficiency through programming and application enhancements.
- Document production technology: Support the applications and technical workflows used for PDF manipulation, document assembly, hyperlinking, indexing, pagination, file conversion and electronic document delivery.
- Technical troubleshooting: Diagnose application errors,



file processing issues, connectivity problems and equipment faults, resolving issues where possible and coordinating specialist support when required.
- Systems integration and file transfer: Support document transfer platforms, secure file handling and the movement of files between applications and production systems.
- Continuous improvement: Work with production personnel to understand operational challenges, improve existing tools and develop reliable technical solutions.
- Documentation and support: Maintain technical records, document solutions and provide practical assistance to employees using our systems and applications.

The technology

You will work with a combination of established commercial applications and Law Image's own internally developed tools.

Essential requirements

· Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.

· At least two years’ programming and/or application development experience.

· Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication and attention to detail.

Desirable

Knowledge of Court Books, Appeal Books, Counsel and Expert Witness Briefs or Tender Bundles; experience electronically compiling and producing these documents is a distinct advantage.

Experience with Nuix, Ringtail, Adobe Acrobat, PDF Pro 10, Fujifilm GIS / MakeREady, Kiteworks, ShareFile or FTP/SFTP clients (FileZilla, WinSCP, SmartFTP).
