A privately owned small animal practice in Brisbane’s bayside is seeking a vet to join the team in a permanent part-time position.

The practice has been caring for local pets for over 20 years and is now under new ownership. Operating from contemporary, purpose-built premises, the team prides itself on providing personalised, caring veterinary services and developing lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

This role offers a consistent two-day week working Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The successful applicant will be the only vet on duty from 5 pm onwards. No appointments are booked after 6 pm, allowing the final half hour of each shift to complete clinical notes, finalise histories and finish on time.

Three to four vets are usually rostered on each weekday, supported by a very experienced nursing team. The practice also employs a senior vet with a strong surgical focus, and a range of procedures, including orthopaedic surgery, are performed in-house.

The purpose-built clinic features two consultation rooms, a surgical theatre, treatment and wet procedures areas,

a dedicated imaging room and separate dog and cat wards. Equipment includes digital x-ray, dental equipment with dental x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic equipment, a new microscope and in-house IDEXX pathology equipment.

The practice has a growing and loyal client base, with many clients having attended for years. Clients are generally receptive to their vets’ recommendations, allowing clinicians to investigate cases thoroughly and develop appropriate treatment plans. Professional development is actively encouraged.

Located in Brisbane’s bayside south-east, the practice is close to public transport, shops and schools, with Moreton Bay within easy reach. The area offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with foreshore parks, walking and cycling trails, cafés and waterfront dining. There are plenty of opportunities for boating and watersports, while Brisbane remains accessible for those wanting to enjoy both city conveniences and bayside living.
