Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government owned client to support them in recruiting for a Sample Reception Officer to join their NATA accredited environmental testing laboratory in Darra on an immediate start contract.

About the role

- Pay rate of $39.94 per hour + super
- 6-month contract from 2 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, with extension potential
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (38 hours per week)
- Receive, inspect and register water and environmental samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Verify sample documentation and chain of custody records for completeness and accuracy
- Coordinate sample storage, preservation and distribution to the chemistry and microbiology testing sections
- Act as a key point of contact for customer sample enquiries and resolve discrepancies with clients, field teams and couriers
- Prepare and dispatch sample containers, wash laboratory glassware, and complete occasional courier runs
- Full training provided on laboratory systems,

Preferred Requirements

- Experience in a laboratory, scientific, environmental or similarly regulated environment
- Experience with LIMS or comparable databases highly regarded
- Previous experience in an ISO 17025 or NATA accredited laboratory favourable
- Solid customer service skills and a confident phone manner
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Current C class driver’s licence (essential)

Preferred Qualifications

- Science qualification (for example chemistry, microbiology, environmental or laboratory science), or a business qualification, or relevant work experience
