About the Role:
Support the effective delivery of Curtin’s accommodation portfolio in a role that brings together program leadership, project coordination, service improvement and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Senior Manager Accommodation, you will lead the Accommodation Coaches and coordinate programs that connect accommodation priorities with the University’s wider strategy.

You will help strengthen student experience, wellbeing, safety and community connection across on-campus and off-campus accommodation settings, including supporting the implementation of Curtin’s commitments under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence. Working closely with Curtin teams, external partners and accommodation providers, you will translate strategic priorities into practical plans, coordinated delivery and meaningful reporting.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate the delivery of accommodation programs and initiatives that support the student journey and align with portfolio objectives and Curtin’s strategy.
- Provide day to day leadership to the Accommodation Coaches, building team capability and supporting consistent, responsive and student-centred services.
- Plan and deliver assigned programs and projects, agreeing timelines and monitoring progress, milestones and outcomes.
- Coordinate relevant compliance, health and safety, occupancy, risk and quality assurance reporting and audits to inform program delivery and service improvement.
- Develop and improve business processes, procedures and operational plans with the Senior Manager Accommodation, translating strategic priorities into practical service improvements.
- Support budget monitoring, requisitions and payments within approved delegations, and prepare business cases and project briefs.
- Build collaborative partnerships across the University and with accommodation providers, and support the monitoring, recording and resolution of accommodation-related complaints and incidents with sound judgement and discretion.

Who we are looking for (Selection Criteria):

You will bring the judgement, organisation and collaborative leadership needed to manage competing priorities in a complex service environment. To be successful, you will have:

- Postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards them, with extensive relevant experience; extensive experience and management expertise in an accommodation field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.

- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage program plans within budget and resource constraints.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Sound financial and budget management capability.
- Demonstrated experience leading and supporting staff and improving business processes to deliver effective, student-centred services.
- High-level interpersonal, consultation, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare quality reports, briefings and correspondence.
- The ability to work collaboratively, analyse complex matters, manage sensitive issues with discretion and connect program delivery with broader organisational priorities.

Desirable:

- Experience in student accommodation, student support or community development within the tertiary education sector, and an understanding of student wellbeing and the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence.

Role Requirements:

- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
- Ability to work outside normal office hours when required
- Travel to regional Western Australia, interstate and/or overseas may be required

Your new Team:
Accommodation & Community Services
Accommodation is a portfolio within Accommodation & Community Services. The Accommodation team supports students through accommodation advice and coaching, residential community initiatives and programs that promote wellbeing, safety and connection. In this role, you will work closely with the Agricola student accommodation team in Kalgoorlie, across Student Life & Experience, Properties, Facilities and Development, Finance and other University teams, as well as accommodation providers and external partners. You will connect accommodation programs with wider University priorities and support coordinated delivery across the portfolio.
