Another Level Formwork The Solid Plasterer position supports the company's cement-based finishing activities, including surface preparation, application of cement render and plaster coatings, and the production of smooth, durable and consistent finishes on concrete and masonry surfaces. Benefits Task & responsibilities Job duties Read drawings and specifications to identify work areas, materials and required finishes. Inspect and prepare concrete and masonry surfaces, removing loose material, contaminants and form-release residue that may affect adhesion. Fill minor surface holes and imperfections using suitable preparation materials. Measure and mark work areas, calculate material quantities, and establish levels and alignment. Install corner beads and screed guides to form straight edges and consistent coating depths. Mix and apply plaster, cement render and related coatings according to product instructions. Apply base and finishing coats to walls, columns and other specified building surfaces. Level and smooth coatings, maintaining uniform thickness and straight corners and angles. Produce specified smooth or textured finishes and observe drying and curing requirements. Repair defective plaster or render and blend repaired areas with surrounding finishes. Prepare and patch minor holes, surface imperfections and uneven areas on concrete surfaces after formwork removal, using suitable cement-based repair or rendering materials, and level and smooth the repaired areas to match the surrounding finish. Responsibilities Complete work according to approved drawings, specifications, site instructions and agreed project timeframes. Confirm substrate readiness and report defects, moisture issues or unsuitable surfaces before starting work. Select appropriate materials, tools and application methods for the specified coating system. Coordinate access and work sequencing with the site supervisor, formwork crews and other trades. Monitor material requirements, report shortages and minimise unnecessary wastage.



Protect adjoining surfaces and completed work, and maintain tools and equipment in positive condition. Follow workplace health and safety procedures for dust control, manual handling, chemical handling and work at heights.

Use the required personal protective equipment. Keep work areas organised and dispose of waste according to site requirements. Qualification & experience Skill qualification and experience Relevant AQF Certificate III in Solid Plastering Minimum one year of relevant work experience as a Solid Plasterer or Renderer. Practical experience preparing concrete and masonry surfaces and applying plaster, cement render and finishing coats. Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and site instructions. Experience using mixing equipment, screeds, floats, trowels and other plastering tools. Knowledge of substrate preparation, mixing, application, drying and curing requirements. Ability to measure surfaces, calculate quantities and maintain accurate levels and coating thickness. Attention to detail, consistent workmanship and effective communication with supervisors and other trades. Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team. Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and correct use of personal protective equipment.
