We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator on behalf of our client, an electrical company delivering projects across Sydney.

This opportunity suits someone who takes ownership, understands electrical project requirements and proactively manages tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and project handover.

About the role

Working closely with the Directors, Operations Managers and Project Management team, you will prepare accurate, competitive estimates for electrical contracts valued between $3 million and $15 million.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation to determine the complete project scope.

- Preparing detailed take offs, cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.

- Preparing and issuing subcontractor and supplier tender packages.

- Obtaining, following up and comparing quotations to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing.

- Raising RFIs and clarifying discrepancies, exclusions and project requirements.

- Identifying alternative materials, installation methods and cost-saving opportunities.

- Maintaining accurate estimating records and tender information in Simpro.





- Managing submission deadlines and following up tenders with clients, builders and construction managers.

- Providing thorough project handovers, including pricing, scope, drawings, quotations and identified risks.

- Supporting subcontractor selection, procurement and project kick-off activities.

- Supporting compliance with company safety, quality and environmental requirements.

About you

You will bring:

- Demonstrated electrical estimating experience, including projects with electrical contract values of $3 million–$15 million.

- Proficiency in Simpro, Groundplan, Excel and Microsoft Office.

- Strong skills in interpreting electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

- A sound understanding of electrical installation methods, labour requirements, materials and subcontractor pricing.

- Solid attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

- Confident communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.

- A proactive approach, strong accountability and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
