Location: Canberra Airport, ACT
Contract: 6 months, with two possible extensions of up to 3 months each
Pay: $75 - $90 p/h including super (negotiable)

About the Role
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced APS6-level Procurement Officer to support its commercial team with procurement planning, documentation and contract administration.

You will work with an EL1 supervisor, help keep Commonwealth procurement activities on track and apply the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs). The engagement is based at Canberra Airport.

What You'll Be Doing

- Support procurement planning and delivery in line with the CPRs and Commonwealth policy.
- Work on whole-of-government panels and mandatory procurement arrangements.
- Prepare procurement plans, requests, evaluation reports and sourcing recommendations.
- Support evaluation secretariat work, probity controls and audit-ready records.
- Conduct market research, liaise with suppliers and help administer contracts.
- Prepare briefs,



correspondence, status reports and procurement registers.

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

- At least three years' experience supporting Commonwealth procurement activities.
- Sound knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and broader Commonwealth procurement framework.
- Direct experience with whole-of-government procurement arrangements, including mandatory panels.
- Experience preparing Commonwealth procurement and contract management documentation.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, written work and deadline management skills.
- Australian citizenship.
- Must hold a current NV1 security clearance or above.

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

- Experience supporting end-to-end procurement evaluations, probity processes and audit trails.
- Experience with commercial governance and contract amendments in a Commonwealth environment.
- Experience supporting a small or specialist Commonwealth regulatory agency.
