Your impact

Jacobs is proud to be the Integrated Delivery Partner for Marinus Link Pty Ltd (MLPL) - connecting Tasmania and Victoria via a 345 km undersea and underground electricity and data interconnector. As the project moves into its delivery and construction phase, MLPL and Jacobs are working as one integrated team to mobilise the workforce needed to deliver this landmark project, seeking to engage talented professionals across a range of dynamic, site-based roles. Construction will be delivered by specialist contractors, with MLPL and Jacobs working side by side to support successful execution. Together, our integrated team will deliver coordinated services across engineering, delivery management, and on-site representation, bringing a collaborative approach to support the build from start to finish.

The Opportunity

As a Site Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of the Heybridge Converter Station package, working as part of the integrated MLPL and Jacobs project team. This client-side role provides technical, coordination and project delivery support across a range of construction activities, helping ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

Working closely with the Site Project Manager, Construction Manager, contractors and key stakeholders, you will contribute to site surveillance, interface management, reporting, risk management and quality oversight while supporting one of Australia's most significant energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities #LI-KH1

- Support the delivery of construction work packages, coordinating site activities, interfaces, risks and project priorities.
- Monitor contractor performance and compliance with approved methodologies, drawings, specifications, schedules and site requirements.
- Assist with the management of project documentation, including RFIs, quality records, risk registers, site records and contractor submissions.
- Participate in site inspections, audits,

safety walks and quality assurance activities to support project compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor project progress and provide site-based observations, technical input and reporting to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with contractors and multidisciplinary stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain strong project outcomes.

Location: Heybridge, Tasmania

In North-West Tasmania, the Heybridge site near Burnie will host the second converter station, switching station, transformers, control facility and supporting infrastructure. Set on a cleared site close to the Bass Highway, it's a strategic location for linking Tasmania's clean energy to the mainland.

Here's what you'll need

- Experience supporting the construction phase of major infrastructure, energy, industrial or multidisciplinary projects.
- A background in project delivery, site coordination, contractor surveillance or interface management within a construction environment.
- Experience working across one or more disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, building services or related infrastructure sectors.
- Solid understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements, with experience participating in site inspections, audits and risk management activities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across contractors, project teams and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, together with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Why Marinus Link?

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant project that will help strengthen Australia's energy network and enable greater sharing of renewable energy between Tasmania and Victoria.

Working within the integrated MLPL and Jacobs team, you'll gain exposure to a complex, large-scale infrastructure project while helping shape the future of Australia's energy transition.
