This is not a beginner role. Duties (assigned according to business priorities)
• Implementing, configuring and optimising Google Ads accounts and campaigns, following standard operating procedures
• Technical onboarding of new clients
• Preparing reports in Google Looker Studio
• Technical support and communication with clients via Slack
• Monitoring Google Ads accounts for problems, following a monitoring procedure
• Adjusting bidding and budgets according to company processes
• Proactively suggesting improvements to accounts
• Working within a busy team to complete assigned tasks How we workYou will work with Claude AI, which you must use as your AI assistant on all TQW projects, through an MCP connection to Google Ads, Monday.com and Confluence. Tasks are assigned on Monday.com, and changes to live client accounts go through an approval process. This is a detail-oriented technical role, so we need someone with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. What we're looking for
• Demonstrable Google Ads experience (Shopping, Search, Performance Max)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfort working to written procedures and within a team
• Highly regarded: Google Ads scripts, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Google Merchant Center, organic Google SEO Hiring process (please read before applying)
• Apply with your CV and answer all screening questions, including your hourly rate in AUD. Your answers are read for specific, real examples from your own work.
• Shortlisted applicants are invited to a paid practical assessment. Applying does not guarantee an invitation. Only applicants whose answers show strong, specific, real experience are shortlisted, and many applicants will not be invited to the assessment.
• Interview with successful assessment candidates.
• Offer. About the assessment
• Paid: for shortlisted applicants only: 1 hour at the hourly rate you stated in your application (AUD), regardless of how long the assessment takes and regardless of your result, provided you submit a positive-faith attempt (all parts attempted).
• Length: no more than 90 minutes. Most people need 45–90 minutes.
• Content: fictional scenarios only. No client work is involved, and nothing you produce will be used commercially.
• Format: written answers submitted in a single document within 90 minutes of opening the assessment.

• Rules: completed without AI tools. At interview you'll be asked to explain your reasoning. Full marks are not required, but the assessment is mandatory.
• Deadline: open and submit within 3 days of receiving the invitation.
• Payment: invoice in AUD for 1 hour at your stated rate. TQW pays exactly the invoiced amount through Wise within 5 business days of receiving a valid invoice. Any Wise or currency conversion fees charged on receipt are your responsibility. Invoices that don't match your stated rate will be returned.
• ABN, if you are located in Australia: you must hold an ABN to be paid for the assessment. Quote your ABN on your invoice, and add GST only if you are registered for it. The payment terms above otherwise apply. To apply, you must be able to issue an invoice in AUD that can be paid via Wise, and accept that payment fees are deducted from the amount you receive. If you are located in Australia, to be paid for the assessment you must hold an ABN and be able to issue an invoice quoting it. Engagement details
• Engagement type: subcontractor (not an employee). If you are located in Australia, we may be able to consider casual employment instead of subcontracting.
• Hours: approximately 20 hours per week for two months. You choose your own schedule, with at least 10 hours per week between 10:00 and 18:00 Adelaide time (Australian Central time), Monday to Friday, for team communication and approvals. Hours beyond 20 per week need prior approval. Time is invoiced as hours worked, weekly.
•

• Rate: state your hourly rate in AUD, excluding GST and other taxes, in the screening questions. This rate is used for the assessment payment and for the engagement unless otherwise agreed. Applications without a rate will not be considered.
• Costs and leave: you provide and pay for your own computer, internet connection, Claude subscription and any leave (including holidays and sick leave). All of these are covered by your hourly rate. TQW pays only for approved hours worked.

Use real examples from your own work and anonymise client names. Include numbers, setting names and what actually happened. Generic answers will not be shortlisted, and submitting an application does not guarantee an invitation to the assessment.
• Account you managed. Describe the largest or most complex Google Ads account you've managed yourself: industry, monthly spend, campaign types, and what you were personally responsible for.
• A problem you diagnosed. Describe one specific performance or technical problem you diagnosed in a live account. What was the symptom, what did you check first, what turned out to be the real cause, and what changed after you fixed it? Include numbers if you can.
• What you got wrong. Describe a mistake you made in a live Google Ads account. What was it, what did it cost, and what do you do differently now?
• A recommendation you rejected. Describe a specific Google Ads recommendation or automated change, from Google or from a tool, that you declined or reversed. What was it, why did you decide against it, and what happened?
• Something innovative you've built to make your work more efficient. Describe one hands-on technical item you set up or repaired. What exactly did you configure, and how did you confirm it worked?
• Google Ads scripts. Describe a Google Ads script you wrote, modified or debugged yourself, not one installed unchanged from a template. What did it do and what did it change or report on? What went wrong the first time you ran it, and how did you test it before letting it run on a live account? If you have only run scripts written by someone else, say so, then describe one: what it changed, and how you checked its effect.
• AI in your workflow. Describe how you've used an AI assistant on Google Ads work. Give one specific example where it saved you time and one where it gave you a wrong or unhelpful answer.
• Rate. What is your hourly rate in AUD for this role, excluding GST and other taxes? If you normally price per task or per month, give the hourly equivalent. This rate will be used to pay for the assessment and for the engagement unless otherwise agreed. Your rate must cover all of your own costs, including your computer, internet, Claude subscription and any leave.
• Wise and invoicing. Can you issue an invoice in AUD and receive payment through Wise, accepting that fees on receipt come out of the amount you receive? (Yes/No) Which Wise account type do you have (personal or business)? If you are located in Australia, do you hold an ABN? (Yes/No)
• Availability and time zone. Which time zone are you in? Can you work approximately 20 hours per week for two months starting on or around 2 November, including at least 10 hours per week between 10:00 and 18:00 Adelaide time? Can you also complete the assessment within 3 days of receiving the invitation? (Yes/No, and your time zone)
