About Us
Katsaros & Associates is one of Australia’s fastest-growing specialist immigration law firms. Since 2013, we have built a reputation for exceptional legal representation across all areas of Australian immigration law, from partner and skilled visas through to complex Administrative Review Tribunal, Federal Court and judicial review litigation. We are not a volume processing firm. We are a litigation-minded, client-focused practice where quality, professionalism and results come first. We are also an AI-integrated practice. We have embedded firm-approved AI tools into our research, drafting, file management and client workflows. Our lawyers spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on strategy, advocacy and client relationships. Technology does not replace legal judgement here; it frees our lawyers to exercise more of it. As our firm continues its rapid expansion, we are seeking an ambitious Junior Immigration Lawyer who wants to become an outstanding immigration practitioner and grow the practice with us.
About the Role
This is not a back-office drafting role. You will be immersed in every aspect of legal practice from day one. You will work directly alongside the Principal and senior lawyers on a diverse range of immigration matters. You will become a trusted adviser to clients. You will conduct consultations, provide preliminary legal advice, prepare strategies, draft complex applications and submissions, and manage files from commencement through to completion under appropriate supervision. You will also play a direct role in growing the practice. That means converting enquiries and consultations into engaged clients, explaining the value of our services with confidence, and building relationships that generate repeat work and referrals. This is a high-energy, client-facing position. It requires excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, sound judgement and the ability to think on your feet. No two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Client engagement and business development
• Conduct initial consultations, assess eligibility and identify suitable visa pathways.
• Convert consultations into engaged matters by clearly explaining strategy, scope, fees and value.
• Follow up enquiries and proposals promptly and professionally.
• Prepare disclosure statements, costs agreements and engagement documentation.
• Build long-term client relationships that generate repeat instructions and referrals. Legal practice
• Prepare and lodge a wide variety of Australian visa applications.
• Draft detailed legal submissions, statutory declarations and legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and interpret complex migration legislation, policy and case law.
• Manage client files from initial enquiry through to finalisation.
• Liaise with the Department of Home Affairs, the Administrative Review Tribunal, the Federal Court, medical practitioners, employers and other stakeholders.
• Assist senior lawyers on complex litigation and review matters. Technology and practice efficiency
• Use the firm’s approved AI tools for research, first-draft preparation, document review and file management.
• Critically verify all AI-assisted work for accuracy, currency and compliance with professional and confidentiality obligations.
• Contribute ideas to improve our systems, automation and client experience. Qualified obligations
• Maintain accurate trust account records and comply with professional obligations relating to trust money.
• Record billable work accurately and maintain organised electronic files. About You You are intelligent, energetic and genuinely passionate about immigration law. You enjoy speaking with people, solving problems and working in a busy environment where priorities change quickly. You are also commercially minded and want to build a practice, not just complete tasks. You will ideally possess:
• admission as an Australian Lawyer (or eligibility for imminent admission);

• demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and convert conversations into outcomes, whether through legal practice, sales,

• outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
• strong legal research and analytical ability;
• excellent organisational and file management skills;
• confidence speaking with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds;
• high attention to detail;
