How the role works Crisis work requires a flexible personality. Workload follows our clients’ needs: some weeks are intense and on short notice. The role will occasionally require you to respond to clients outside business hours, including evenings and weekends, and all time worked is paid. The position suits an experienced practitioner who wants flexibility and can step up quickly when a matter breaks. The role You will work alongside Managing Director Peter Wilkinson on major client accounts, with a focus on crisis and issues management. You will:
• Provide strategic counsel and reliable, on-time delivery on live crisis and issues matters
• Lead media relations, including shaping stories, pitching journalists, and writing media releases, statements, and Q&As;
• Engage government, regulators, and community stakeholders on clients’ behalf




• Develop and run communications campaigns across traditional and digital channels
• Use AI tools to work faster, while applying your own judgement
• Track the news cycle closely and identify emerging issues before they reach our clients About you
• At least five years’ Australian agency or in-house experience in corporate affairs, media relations, or issues management
• Strong, current relationships with journalists and a record of securing quality coverage
• Calm under pressure, and able to write quickly and well on deadline
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with sound judgement on legal and reputational risk
• Responsive and reliable when clients need you
• Genuine interest in current affairs, sustainability, and social impact What you will gain
