• Hybrid role based in Central Sydney Data#3 is seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Security Architect to lead the development of a library of reusable security patterns for a large, complex enterprise. You’ll work with existing production security services, identify what is genuinely reusable, and turn it into clear, approved patterns that delivery teams can follow. This is a thought leadership role in enterprise security architecture, not a hands-on engineering role. The focus is on documenting and standardising current-state architecture rather than designing new solutions.
Key responsibilities
• Lead development of a catalogue of security patterns using an established template, covering security objective, applicability, architecture considerations, implementation guidance and control alignment
• Work with SMEs and service owners to extract patterns from existing services, set clear pattern boundaries and recommend where a standard or guideline is a better fit
• Cover a broad range of security domains, including identity and access, cryptography, network and perimeter security, security monitoring, endpoint and secure build,
across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Take patterns through formal architecture governance for review and approval
• Maintain pattern tracking and governance records, and prepare approved patterns for publication in an enterprise architecture repository
• Provide progress reporting and a final handover covering ownership and lifecycle management Required experience
• Senior enterprise security architecture experience in large, complex organisations
• Proven track record writing security patterns, reference architectures or security architecture standards
• Broad knowledge across security control domains and hybrid cloud (AWS and Azure)
• Experience working within formal architecture governance
• Robust written communication, and the credibility to engage technical architects and senior security stakeholders
