Role Description The Pre Construction Assistant / Junior Estimator is a full time, on-site role based in Norwest, NSW. In this role, the team member supports pre-construction activities by assisting with quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, and organising tender and proposal documentation. The position involves reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating with project managers and designers, and maintaining accurate records of pricing, suppliers, and subcontractors. The role also includes tracking budgets, timelines, and project status, while helping ensure smooth handover from pre-construction to project delivery. The team member will work closely with internal stakeholders to support efficient planning, cost control, and timely project execution. What you’ll be doing
• Helping prepare estimates and tender submissions,



including quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Requesting and comparing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Building bills of quantities, pricing schedules and Product Detail Sheets
• Keeping project documentation, registers and programs up to date
• Taking minutes in project meetings and helping prepare weekly client reports
• Raising purchase orders and setting up subcontracts in line with our procedures
• Supporting monthly progress claims and keeping forecast data current
• Reviewing completed project costs against estimates to sharpen future pricing What you’ll bring
• A qualification (or current study) in construction management, building, engineering, quantity surveying or similar, or some relevant industry experience
• The ability to read construction drawings, or a genuine eagerness to learn
• Sharp attention to detail and a head for numbers
• Experience in estimating
• Clear, confident communication, both written and verbal
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
