About the project We’re pursuing an exciting marine infrastructure project in Geraldton, Western Australia, creating an opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure works in a stunning coastal location with easy access to urban amenities and an enviable regional lifestyle. This opportunity offers the chance to support quality outcomes across a complex construction environment, working alongside experienced project personnel to help deliver works to the required standards and specifications.
About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Quality Advisor to support the implementation and continuous improvement of project quality systems, ensuring construction activities, materials and completed works meet contractual, design and quality requirements. Working closely with the Project Manager, Quality Manager, engineering team, site supervision and subcontractors, you’ll play an important role in promoting quality across the project. This is an opportunity for a hands-on quality professional to contribute their expertise in a collaborative project environment, with the flexibility to bring a quality assurance background from either an engineering or construction discipline.
Key responsibilities
• Implement and maintain project quality systems, inspection and test plans, checklists and quality documentation in line with contractual and project requirements.
• Coordinate site quality assurance and control activities, inspections, testing and quality surveillance to verify compliance with specifications and approved documentation.
• Conduct quality audits and review subcontractor and supplier quality systems, identifying non-conformances, corrective actions and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate quality records, registers and reports, monitoring quality performance and escalating emerging issues and trends to project management.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, construction and site teams to promote quality awareness, resolve quality issues and support the successful delivery of project works. Don’t tick all the boxes? If you don’t meet every requirement but have relevant experience or transferable skills, we encourage you to apply. You may be a great fit for this role or other opportunities within McConnell Dowell. What will you bring?
• Demonstrated experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within construction, infrastructure, civil, marine or a similar project environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction quality systems, inspection and test plans, non-conformance management, audits and quality documentation.
• Proven ability to interpret technical documentation, work collaboratively with site and project teams, and drive quality outcomes in a fast-paced workplace.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate quality records. Experience with complex infrastructure or marine construction projects will be highly regarded.
A relevant engineering or quality qualification is advantageous but not essential. What’s in it for you? (Benefits)
• Attractive FIFO roster: 2 weeks on, 1 week off, flying from Perth.
• Unique project opportunity: Contribute to the delivery of complex marine infrastructure in Western Australia’s Mid West.
• Coastal lifestyle: Experience Geraldton’s stunning coastline and relaxed regional lifestyle.
• Career development: Work alongside experienced construction and quality professionals within a collaborative project team.
