Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Doss House in The Rocks, NSW, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the venue. This includes managing staff schedules, supervising front-of-house service, and ensuring consistent, high-quality guest experiences. The role involves monitoring inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and managing bar presentation and maintenance. The General Manager will handle financial tasks such as budgeting, reporting, and cost control, while also driving marketing initiatives, events, and promotions to grow revenue. This position leads and develops the team,



maintains compliance with safety and licensing regulations, and upholds the bar’s heritage brand standards. Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in hospitality or bar/restaurant management, with skills in team leadership and staff development.
• Strong operational skills in venue supervision, inventory control, supplier coordination, and scheduling.
• Ability to manage budgets, interpret financial reports, and implement cost-effective practices.
• Skills in customer service, conflict resolution, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive workplace for guests.
• Familiarity with local licensing, health, and safety regulations, and commitment to compliance.
• Experience with basic marketing and event coordination, including promotions and social media collaboration.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Prior experience in a heritage, boutique, or high-end bar setting is highly regarded; formal hospitality or business qualifications are an advantage.
