We're seeking enthusiastic piano teachers for Term 1, 2027, teaching students throughout Melbourne, particularly the Inner North, Bayside and Inner Eastern suburbs.

About the role

- In-home piano lessons (students' homes)
- Beginner to intermediate students (mostly children and teens)
- Lessons typically run weekday afternoons and early evenings
- Optional morning and weekend lessons
- You choose your availability and workload

What we're looking for

- Strong piano skills — Grade 8 or above preferred (Grade 6 or equivalent ability considered)
- Piano teaching experience preferred, but not essential for outstanding applicants
- A reliable car and willingness to travel locally
- A warm, friendly and engaging teaching style, particularly with children
- Interest in teaching for at least 2 years
- ABN and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Australian work rights

About Play Music

Play Music is an established in-home music school connecting families with independent piano teachers. We provide marketing, student introductions and administrative support.

Teachers choose their own availability and lesson fees, and Play Music takes care of marketing and admin - invoicing students under the teacher's ABN.

The indicative $77 teaching-hour amount is based on two consecutive 30-minute lessons at commonly charged 2026 rates, after Play Music's fee and before expenses and tax. Student referrals and earnings are not guaranteed.
