We operate specialist taxation service brands, including PoliceTax, and develop digital solutions to support client management, appointment scheduling, tax processing, payment systems and internal business operations.

We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and maintain web and mobile applications, backend systems and digital infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to software development, AI-powered solutions, system integrations, database management and workflow automation.

Key Responsibilities

Software & Mobile Application Development

- Design, develop, test and maintain web-based and mobile applications.
- Develop backend services using PHP, JavaScript, Python and relational databases.
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Build responsive user interfaces and integrate frontend applications with backend services.
- Troubleshoot software defects, optimise performance and maintain application reliability.

API & Third-Party Service Integration

- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs.
- Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms, including accounting software, payment gateways, booking systems and communication services.
- Develop automated workflows connecting business applications and external services.
- Implement secure authentication, data exchange and API error handling.

AI Integration & Automation

- Integrate AI services, large language models (LLMs) and third-party AI APIs into business applications.
- Develop AI-assisted workflows for data processing, customer interactions and administrative automation.
- Implement AI-powered features with appropriate validation, security and privacy controls.
- Evaluate and improve the performance and reliability of AI-enabled applications.





Server Configuration & Infrastructure

- Configure, deploy and maintain Linux-based application servers and web hosting environments.
- Manage web server configurations, application hosting and deployment processes.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control and deployment automation.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues and maintain system availability.
- Support server security, access management, backups and software updates.

Database Management & Data Analytics

- Design, maintain and optimise relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Develop SQL queries, stored procedures and data-processing workflows.
- Build data integrations, ETL processes and automated reporting solutions.
- Develop dashboards and analytics tools to support business decision-making.
- Improve database performance, data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Software Engineering & Collaboration

- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Participate in software architecture, system design, testing and code reviews.
- Maintain technical documentation and implement software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and digital improvements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining software applications using languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Python or Dart.
- Experience with backend development, RESTful APIs and third-party service integrations.
- Understanding of relational databases, SQL and database design.
- Familiarity with web or mobile application development.
- Working knowledge of server environments, application deployment and version control.
- Solid analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently or collaboratively.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
