Alexandria

About us
Vow Group is a cell culturing company. Our mission is to improve the lives of billions with animal products, made without animals. We bring science, engineering, operations and design together.

The role
Our supply chain now spans our Alexandria site and a network of co-manufacturers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. Some of our stock is chilled or frozen and is held off-site. As our Supply Chain Analyst, you will study how materials and products move through this network and recommend changes that cut cost and delay.

The role covers the demand forecast, stock at each site, purchase orders, and shipments with our freight and 3PL partners. When the numbers point to a problem, you will propose a fix and help the team put it in place.

You will run several pieces of work at once, from start to finish, and bring your manager options when something needs a decision. You will work most closely with Production, Quality, Sales and Finance.

Skills and experience required

- A bachelor degree
- At least 2 years in a supply chain role, ideally in food, cosmetics or manufacturing
- Strong spreadsheet skills. You can pull raw data from an ERP or MRP system (for example Katana) and turn it into a forecast or a report people act on
- A track record of using data to find and fix a problem in a supply chain. Tell us about one in your application
- Use of AI tools and automation to work faster and to check your work
- Experience with chilled or frozen goods and 3PL partners is an advantage

What you will do

Improve the supply chain

- Map how materials and products move from suppliers to customers, including through co-manufacturers and 3PLs,

and find the steps that add cost or delay
- Write up recommended changes, with the numbers behind them
- Once the team agrees a change, help put it in place and update the standard operating procedure (SOP)
- Lead changes to our 3PL and freight partners, from comparing options to running the move
- Support continuous improvement of inbound and outbound processes through design, implementation and SOP creation

Plan and forecast

- Own the demand forecast and turn it into a supply plan for materials and packaging
- Set reorder points and safety stock from sales and usage data, and review them each month
- Bring clear numbers to the weekly planning meeting and flag gaps in stock or materials early enough for the team to act
- Work with Production to match supply with forecast demand, and make sure changes to the production schedule are reflected in reorder rates

Stock, shipments and freight

- Track stock at our Alexandria site and 3PL, reconcile our records against 3PL reports each month, and fix gaps at the source
- Set the cycle count schedule and use the results to find where our records go wrong
- Own shipment tracing and the checking of freight invoices and electronic bills
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on any changes to expected delivery times

- Review temperature records for chilled and frozen loads and follow up with the carrier on any breach

Reporting and systems

- Report each month on stock accuracy, on-time in-full delivery, freight cost and service levels
- Automate reports and alerts so the team sees problems sooner, using AI tools where they save time
- Own how supply chain data flows between our MRP and production systems, and fix set-up and data gaps so forecasts and stock records hold up
- Pull data from the MRP and other systems to find trends and bottlenecks

Why join us

- A diverse, mission-led team. We make food for everyone, so we want a team that looks like the people we serve. Come as you are.
- Current technology. Founded in 2019, we were the first startup to grow meat from the cells of an undomesticated animal.
- Backed by investors including Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital, Grok Ventures, Tenacious Ventures, P7 Ventures, Toyota Ventures and PeakBridge VC.
- Equity for every employee on top of a competitive base salary.

- Relocation support for people moving from interstate.
- A converted warehouse campus in Alexandria with labs, two factories, showers, bike racks, free snacks and a dog-friendly office.
