About the position

Whalers Galley Cafe is looking for a capable, experienced and reliable cook and café all-rounder to join our friendly team at Albany's Historic Whaling Station.

We are seeking someone who enjoys working in a busy café, is confident with food preparation and cooking, and is equally willing to assist with coffee making and front-of-house duties.

The ideal applicant will have a mature, responsible attitude, plenty of initiative and the ability to remain calm and organised under pressure. Above all, we're looking for a genuine team player who takes pride in their work and is happy to lend a hand wherever needed.

What we're looking for

- Experience working in a busy café kitchen
- Good cooking and food preparation skills
- Barista experience
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, initiative and a mature, responsible attitude
- Ability to manage busy service periods efficiently
- Willingness to help across all areas of the café
- Reliable transport to our Torndirrup location

Hours and conditions

- 3–5 shifts per week,



offering flexible, regular casual work
- Shifts generally begin at 8:30 am for morning preparation
- Lunch service operates from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Normal finishing time is approximately 4:30 pm
- One Friday evening shift per month, finishing around 9:00 pm
- The café operates seven days a week, closing only on Christmas Day
- Casual award rates apply
- A meal is provided each day you work
