About the Role

As Head of Department - Humanities, this role will involve leading the Humanities Faculty and the whole school Teaching & Learning and Effective Instruction.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Educational Vision and Leadership: Lead the school department in developing and implementing a shared educational vision that prioritises high-quality learning outcomes, student wellbeing and high expectations for student and staff performance.
Equity and Inclusive Practice: Embed socially just, equitable and inclusive practices into daily school operations, ensuring all students and staff are supported, valued and provided with opportunities to succeed.




Professional Learning and Development: Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, continuous improvement and ongoing professional development to strengthen leadership capacity and enhance educational outcomes.
Strategic Planning and Partnerships: Adopt a future-focused, strategic approach to school improvement by building collaborative partnerships with students, parents, government agencies and community groups to support student learning and departmental priorities.
Governance and Resource Management: Apply a sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, particularly those relating to students and staff, while effectively managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve departmental goals.
