Kitchen Staff / Sushi Preparation – Sushi Train Plympton

Sushi Train Plympton is looking for reliable and motivated Kitchen Staff to join our busy team.

You do not need to be an experienced sushi chef. If you have some previous kitchen or food preparation experience and are willing to learn, we would be happy to hear from you.

Experience with Japanese food or sushi is a bonus, but not essential.

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment
- Interest in Japanese food or sushi is a bonus
- Most importantly, someone who is reliable and keen to learn

You don’t need to have sushi-making experience — we can provide training.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your experience and training, your duties may include:

- Preparing ingredients for sushi and other menu items
- Basic food preparation and kitchen duties
- Sushi roll and nigiri preparation after training
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
- Assisting with prep and service during busy periods




- Working together with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly

Full training will be provided in our procedures and sushi preparation methods.

Pay is based on the Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) and your experience and classification.
