About the Role

Blue Bird Aged Care and Disability Services is seeking a Tongan-speaking Support Worker to support an adult client in Bardia, South West Sydney.

You will provide respectful, person-centred support in the client’s own language, helping him stay safe, independent and connected to his community.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming
- Provide social support and community access
- Communicate with the client in Tongan
- Follow the client’s support plan and complete shift notes
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold Blue Bird’s standards of care

Essential Requirements

- Fluent in Tongan and English (spoken)
- Male worker required for personal care shifts, at the client’s request. Female workers are welcome to apply for social support shifts.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or Aged Care (or equivalent)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current Australian driver’s licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
- Paid experience in disability or aged care support
- Two professional references who can be contacted.
