About the Practice

Altona Medical Centre is a long‑established, family‑focused GP clinic providing comprehensive primary healthcare to the Altona community for over 30 years. The practice offers a full range of general medical services, chronic disease management, preventative care, vaccinations, and urgent same‑day appointments. With a team of experienced GPs, nurses, and support staff, the clinic delivers compassionate, evidence‑based care in a modern, welcoming environment, supported by convenient online booking and bulk billing for eligible patients.

We need Doctors / General Practitioners to perform the following duties:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Conduct patient consultations, examinations, and medical assessments.

- Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

- Prescribe medications and formulate appropriate treatment and management plans.

- Provide preventative healthcare services and health promotion advice to patients.

- Conduct routine medical examinations, health assessments, and screening programs.

- Manage patients with chronic health conditions and coordinate ongoing care plans.

- Order, review, and interpret pathology tests, diagnostic investigations, and medical imaging results.





- Administer immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with current clinical guidelines.

- Provide women's health, men's health, children's health, and aged care services.

- Provide antenatal and postnatal care and monitor patients during pregnancy.

- Assess, diagnose, and manage common mental health conditions and provide appropriate support and referrals.

- Refer patients to specialist medical practitioners and allied health professionals where required.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation.

- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

- Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and professional development activities.

Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:

Education : Bachelor Degree or Higher Degree in related field

Australian Experience : At least 3 + years of Australian Experience OR

Overseas Experience : At least 3+ years of Overseas Experience

Specialist : General Practitioner

Work Rights : Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
