A Bricklayer is responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks and other types of masonry materials to construct, repair and maintain walls, foundations, partitions and other structures. Duties include reading and interpreting building plans, measuring and setting out work areas, preparing mortar, cutting bricks and blocks, laying bricks to the required levels and alignment, and ensuring all work meets building codes, safety requirements and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
- Measure, mark out and prepare building areas.
- Mix mortar and other materials to the required consistency.
- Lay bricks, blocks and other masonry materials using appropriate techniques.
- Cut and shape bricks and blocks to fit specific areas.




- Construct walls, corners, arches and other masonry structures.
- Check alignment, levels and dimensions to ensure accuracy.
- Repair damaged brickwork and carry out maintenance as required.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and equipment safely.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite.
- Work effectively with builders, contractors and other tradespeople.

Pay: $79,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
