Main Responsibilities

Assistant Store Manager – Part-Time

Subway Gisborne | Opportunity to Progress to Store Manager

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and capable person to join our team as an

Assistant Store Manager at Subway Gisborne.

This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to develop into Store Manager position.

The role will initially involve approximately 15–20 hours per week, with structured

training and development during the first few months.

As you gain experience and demonstrate your ability to take on greater responsibility,

there may be opportunities to increase your hours and progress into management role.

About the role

You will support the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including:

- Leading and supervising team members.
- Delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and product quality.
- Supporting staff rostering, recruitment, training and development.
- Coordinating stock ordering, deliveries, inventory and weekly stocktakes.
- Learning to prepare and analyse WISR and operational reports.
- Monitoring sales, labour productivity, food costs and wastage.
- Coordinating school lunch, online and third-party delivery orders.
- Managing day-to-day operational issues and customer complaints.
- Supporting sales growth, operational improvements and agreed performance targets.




- Completing relevant Subway training and management development programs.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience in hospitality, fast food or retail.
- Has supervisory experience or the potential to become a strong leader.
- Is organised, reliable and takes initiative.
- Communicates well and works effectively with others.
- Can remain calm and make sound decisions during busy periods.
- Takes pride in customer service and maintaining high standards.
- Is willing to learn Subway systems and develop their management skills.

Previous Subway experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Training and career development

The successful candidate will receive structured training in Subway operations, staff

leadership, inventory management, sales reporting and restaurant management.

The position will begin on a part-time basis, with an initial three-month probation and

development period.

Remuneration: In accordance with the Fast Food Industry Award 2020, based on the

applicable classification and responsibilities. Penalty rates, superannuation and other

applicable entitlements will be provided.

Career progression: Opportunity for increased hours and progression to

Store Manager position, subject to performance, capability and business requirements.

Pre-employment requirements

The successful applicant may be required to undertake a National Police

Check as part of the recruitment process. Any information disclosed will be

assessed in relation to the responsibilities and requirements of the position.

Additional requirements

Applicants must hold a current, valid Australian driver's licence and be willing

and able to undertake work-related driving duties when required.
