About the Role
LONESTAR RIB HOUSE & BREWS, operated by RLS HOSPITALITY PTY LTD, is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard while assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and required quality standards.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented and served consistently.
- Assist with menu updates and contribute ideas for new dishes.
- Coordinate and support junior kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, garnishing and plating.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
- Manage kitchen stock and assist with ordering ingredients.
- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure appropriate food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.
- Respond to customer feedback and assist with improving kitchen operations.
- Work effectively as part of a professional kitchen team.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent/higher qualification.
- At least 1-3 years of full-time relevant experience as a Cook.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to food quality, presentation and consistency.
