About the opportunity

As a Mail Sorting Officer, you'll be based at a Delivery Centre, supporting the preparation of mail so it's ready for delivery the next day. Your work includes assisting with the processing of letters, parcels and Express Post items, sorting mail that can't be machine-processed and helping load and unload mail from bags, trays, containers and transport vehicles. You'll also support loose load operations by unloading articles from ULDs onto conveyor systems and assisting with van unloading activities to ensure mail is sorted accurately and efficiently.

You'll work across modern processing equipment and systems, including setting up and operating conveyor belt processes, conducting scanning activities to support accurate mail tracking, preparing operational work areas and using load-shifting equipment such as pallet jacks and BT equipment (training provided). You'll rotate across different operational functions throughout the shift, helping maintain an efficient flow of mail and parcels through the facility.

This is a strong entry-level chance to learn how large-scale operations work, build practical skills and contribute to a trusted service that communities rely on. With a focus on safety, teamwork and reliability, the experience gained in this role can open pathways to future opportunities across processing, delivery and logistics.

About you

- Flexible and willing to work extra hours and undertake additional duties when needed.
- Detail-focused,



reliable and able to safely lift and handle items up to 16kg individually, with team lifting required for articles up to 22kg.
- Comfortable performing manual handling tasks and working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Willing to rotate across multiple operational functions throughout the shift.
- Communicate clearly, work proactively and support teammates in busy environments.
- Willing to be trained in and operate pallet jacks, BT equipment and other operational tools and equipment.
- Committed to workplace safety procedures, operational standards and working collaboratively as part of a team.
