Electric Power Conversions Australia (EPCA) converts diesel mining equipment to battery-electric, including CAT 777 haul trucks and CAT 988 wheel loaders. We design and build at our Hazelmere workshop and supply machines and conversion kits to clients in Australia and overseas.

We’re looking for an R&D; Manager to run our electrification development program.

The role

- Plan and manage R&D; projects from concept to field testing, including budgets, schedules and milestones
- Coordinate engineers, technicians and electricians on electrical system design, battery sizing, drive systems and build documentation
- Lead risk and safety studies, including HAZOP/HAZID and arc flash assessments
- Manage testing and validation of prototype machines
- Prepare R&D; Tax Incentive claims and grant documentation
- Work with mining customers and international suppliers on technical requirements and project delivery
- Report to the Chief Engineer

Essential

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical,



electronic or energy engineering, or a related field
- At least 3 years’ experience managing R&D; or engineering projects
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage battery-electric systems in heavy mobile or mining equipment
- Experience preparing R&D; Tax Incentive claims or government grant applications
- Experience leading HAZOP/HAZID or arc flash assessments
- Able to work on-site at our Hazelmere workshop full time

Desirable

- Experience with prototype testing and validation of electric drive systems
- Experience working with international battery or drivetrain suppliers
