Little Italiano Eatery, a busy Italian restaurant in Potts Point, Sydney, is seeking an experienced full-time Chef to join our kitchen team.

About the role

This is a permanent, full-time position (38-40 hours per week) working across a roster that may include weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Salary: AU$80,000 - AU$85,000 per year plus superannuation.

Key duties

- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order supplies

- Prepare and cook Italian dishes, including fresh pasta, sauces, mains and desserts

- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

- Supervise, train and coordinate kitchen staff

- Ensure food safety, hygiene and WHS standards are met at all times

- Manage stock rotation, storage and minimise waste

- Discuss food preparation issues with management and suppliers

- Maintain kitchen equipment and a clean, organised work area

Requirements





- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) and/or at least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef

- Experience in Italian cuisine is highly regarded

- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced workplace

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Must have the right to work in Australia
