We are recruiting for an experienced Technology Risk Manager to join an established organisation within the insurance sector.

You will take ownership of technology risk assessment and assurance activities, assess control effectiveness and provide independent advice to Technology and business stakeholders. The role combines hands-on risk analysis with stakeholder engagement, requiring someone who can provide credible challenge and drive practical improvements.

Working across Technology, Risk and Internal Audit, you will support the continued development of technology risk management practices, including the assessment of cloud, AI and emerging technology risks.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver technology risk assessments and assurance reviews, identifying material risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls, documenting findings and recommending practical actions.
- Provide independent technology risk advice and credible challenge to Technology and business stakeholders.
- Review and challenge risk assessments, control evaluations and remediation plans.
- Monitor remediation progress and assess whether proposed actions adequately address identified risks.
- Partner with First Line Technology, Second Line Risk and Internal Audit to support effective risk oversight and assurance.
- Contribute to improvements in technology risk frameworks, assessment methodologies and reporting practices.
- Assess risks associated with cloud environments, AI adoption and emerging technologies.
- Support regulatory, operational resilience and broader risk management initiatives.
- Develop risk insights,



reporting and key risk indicators for senior stakeholders.
- Manage multiple workstreams, balancing delivery deadlines and competing priorities.

Skills and experience

- At least five years' experience in Technology Risk, IT Risk or a closely related discipline.
- Solid hands-on experience delivering technology risk assessments and assurance reviews.
- Demonstrated experience assessing technology controls and identifying gaps in their design or operation.
- Experience assessing AI and emerging technology risks.
- Strong cloud risk experience, including assessing associated controls and risk exposures.
- Experience within the insurance sector.
- Proven ability to provide clear risk advice and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills, including preparing risk findings, recommendations and management reporting.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with experience managing several pieces of work simultaneously.
