Refrigeration Mechanic – Service

AJ Baker & Sons are a fourth generation, family owned company, established in 1920 with branches throughout Australia. Located in WA, SA, NSW, VIC & QLD, we specialise in; supply, installation, service and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning for supermarkets and other commercial businesses.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, suitably qualified and experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic to join the Queensland Service Team on a permanent fulltime basis. This role is ideal for someone with experience in commercial supermarkets and is eager to advance their career and skillset.

You will be responsible for:

- Conducting reactive breakdowns and fault finding on commercial refrigeration systems and ice machines

- Scheduled preventative maintenance

- Utilising strong diagnostic skills while working independently

- Maintaining a professional and safety-focused approach on every site

- Demonstrating commitment, reliability, and a positive attitude towards work, colleagues, and customers

Experience in commercial supermarkets is advantageous, along with a willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required. Also, participate in the After Hours Roster.

Candidates should be open to training in CO2 technology, possess a strong work ethic for both independent work and team collaboration,



and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.

To be a successful candidate, you will possess:

- Permanent rights to work in Australia

- Trade Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

- Full ARCTick Licence

- Qld Restricted Electrical Licence

- White Card

- Valid Driver’s Licence

- Gas Work (Hydrocarbon) Licence

- Tools of the Trade

- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

- Clear communication and strong customer focus

- A reliable, professional approach to your work
