About the role

This role takes your coffee skills out of one cafe and into many. You'll look after a portfolio of independent cafe partners and support their teams. You'll also build relationships that bring new cafes into the Black Market family. Along with a solid base, you'll earn commission on the new business you bring in, so your income grows as your portfolio does. You'll still be hands on with coffee every week. This role needs strong specialty coffee experience behind the bar.

Key responsibilities

- Look after and support our cafe partners

- Train and coach cafe teams on coffee and workflow

- Help pack and dispatch the coffee from the roastery

- Deliver coffee to your clients in the work van

- Help with calibration and recipes

- Do preventative maintenance and troubleshoot machines and grinders

- Build genuine, long term relationships with owners and their teams

- Meet cafe owners and welcome new cafes into Black Market

- Help with coffee and product deliveries and dispatch

About you

- Solid experience in a professional cafe or barista experience in specialty coffee





- Strong espresso calibration and recipe skills

- Confident milk texturing and latte art

- Experience with commercial espresso machines and grinders

- Calm and capable behind a busy bar

- Warm, clear communication and a genuine interest in people

- Curious about the business side of cafes

- Australian driver's licence
