Head of Internal Audit & Business Assurance
Senior Leadership Opportunity

We are partnering with a large, complex organisation to appoint an experienced Internal Audit leader into a senior position with significant executive exposure.
This opportunity will suit an individual with a strong background across internal audit, governance, risk management and business assurance, who can combine strategic thinking with sound commercial judgement and strong stakeholder management skills.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing independent assurance across a complex business portfolio, working closely with senior stakeholders to identify emerging risks, strengthen controls and support business resilience.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee a portfolio of internal audit and assurance activities, ensuring coverage is aligned to key business risks and strategic priorities.
Provide independent assurance across governance, operational risks, internal controls, technology dependencies and business transformation.
Build strong relationships with senior executives, providing credible insight and constructive challenge.
Identify emerging business and operational risks,



ensuring audit activities remain relevant as the organisation evolves.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality audits and reviews, providing practical recommendations and clear reporting to senior leadership.
Lead, coach and develop a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

About You
Relevant skilled qualifications such as CIA, CA, CPA or CISA are desirable.
Significant leadership experience within Internal Audit, Business Assurance or Risk Advisory.
Strong understanding of governance, risk management, internal controls and complex business operations.
Experience gained within a large, complex organisation or a Big 4 consulting environment.
Broad knowledge of operational risk, business transformation, technology dependencies and organisational resilience.
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering risk-based audit plans.
Proven ability to engage, influence and challenge senior executive stakeholders.
Strong communication, people leadership and strategic thinking skills.
