About the Role

As the Rehabilitation Physician you'll provide specialist rehabilitation medicine services including robust clinical leadership to outpatient rehabilitation teams. If you have the qualifications and aptitude along with excellent interpersonal skills and the commitment to improving patient care, this may be the role for you!

Key responsibilities

- Provide expert diagnosis, management and treatment for patients with functional impairments arising from injury, illness or chronic conditions
- Develop individualised rehabilitation programs tailored to patient needs
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care
- Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
- Provide clinical leadership in the development and implementation of rehabilitation programs
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect and patient-centred care
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding prognosis, treatment goals and rehabilitation plans
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain high standards of ethical practice and professional behaviour

What we’re looking for

- Basic medical degree, registrable as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with accredited advanced training in rehabilitation medicine.
- Driver’s licence.
- Experience in Rehabilitation Medicine

About the Rehabilitation Department





The Rehabilitation department at Barwon Health is a dynamic and comprehensive service, delivering sub-specialty programs within inpatient, outpatient and home based settings. This includes neurorehabilitation, orthopaedic rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputee and reconditioning rehabilitation.

The department employs nine Rehabilitation Physicians who work collegially across sub-specialty areas in expert multi-disciplinary teams.
