A major warehouse automation project. A workforce to build. An opportunity to make your mark.
SSI SCHAEFER is delivering a major automated distribution centre for ALDI at Bradfield in Western Sydney. It's a substantial, multi-year project bringing together engineering, technology, installation and operational expertise from Australia and around the world.
We're looking for an experienced recruitment and HR professional to help build and support the workforce behind it.
Talent Acquisition is at the heart of this role. You'll work closely with project leaders to understand workforce requirements, attract specialist talent and build recruitment pipelines as the project progresses. Beyond Talen Acquisition, you'll provide practical HR support to project managers and employees as part of our experienced ANZ HR team.
The opportunity
This is an chance to take real ownership of recruitment on a significant Australian project, while contributing to the broader people requirements of a growing and evolving workforce.
Your focus will include:
- Working with project leaders to anticipate workforce requirements and align recruitment with project milestones.
- Delivering end-to-end recruitment across engineering, technical, trades, logistics, project management and support roles.
- Developing recruitment strategies and talent pipelines to meet current and future workforce needs.
- Supporting international workforce mobilisation and integration in partnership with our Global Mobility team.
- Providing practical HR advice and support on day-to-day employee matters.
- Supporting onboarding, employee integration and retention as the project workforce grows.
- Helping develop apprenticeship and early-career pathways to support future workforce capability.
You'll have the opportunity to build relationships across the project and the broader business, contribute to workforce decisions and see the results of your work as the project progresses.
What you’ll bring
Your strength will be Talent Acquisition. You'll have substantial experience delivering end-to-end recruitment,
enjoy the challenge of finding people for specialist roles and know how to build talent pipelines for future needs.
You'll also bring practical HR experience and sound judgement, with the confidence to support managers on everyday people matters and recognise when more complex issues need additional expertise.
We're looking for someone with:
- Strong hands-on recruitment experience, including direct sourcing and recruiting for professional, technical or specialist positions.
- Experience contributing to workforce planning and developing recruitment strategies to meet business requirements.
- A sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and practical employee relations matters.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with project leaders and employees alike.
- Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities in a changing environment.
Experience recruiting in engineering, construction, automation, logistics or similarly technical environments would be an advantage. Exposure to international workforce mobility, apprenticeships or early-career programs would also be valuable.
Just as importantly, you'll enjoy being hands-on. You're comfortable working with senior stakeholders, but equally happy rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. You'll take ownership, follow things through and enjoy being part of a small HR team where everyone contributes.
Working with us
Based at our Norwest office, this is a hybrid role with occasional attendance at the ALDI project site in Bradfield as the project develops.
You'll be part of an established international business, working alongside local and international colleagues on a project of considerable scale and complexity. You'll also join a collaborative ANZ HR team that values practical thinking,
