About the opportunity
As an Electrical Trainer & Assessor, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the careers of apprentices and secondary school students entering the electrical industry.
Drawing on your own practical experience, you'll help students develop the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, confidence and professional standards needed to become capable and competent electricians.
Your role will involve:
- Delivering Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician to apprentices.
- Delivering Certificate II in Electrotechnology through our VET in Schools programs.
- Facilitating engaging, practical workshop sessions and industry-relevant theory training.
- Conducting competency-based assessments and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting apprentices through workplace training, assessment and mentoring.
- Sharing your industry knowledge and encouraging students to achieve their potential.
You'll work with a supportive team of training professionals who understand the importance of quality vocational education and the value of experienced tradespeople in developing a skilled workforce.
About you
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their trade and is enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A recognised electrical trade qualification and relevant electrical licence.
- Strong, current experience working within the electrical industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, approachable and supportive manner.
- A commitment to quality workmanship, safety and industry standards.
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing others.
Already hold your TAE? We'd welcome your experience.
Don't have your TAE yet? Don't let that stop you from applying. We are equally interested in experienced electricians looking to transition into vocational education and will support suitable candidates to gain the required qualification.
A career change that makes the most of your experience
Moving into training doesn't mean leaving the electrical industry behind. It means taking everything you've learned throughout your career and using it to help others build theirs.
At Axial Training, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a more balanced working week, remain connected to the industry and make a meaningful contribution to the development of future electricians.
If you're looking for a role that combines competitive remuneration, flexibility, professional satisfaction and genuine career opportunities, we'd love to talk to you.
