About the Role

We're looking for reliable, hardworking Kitchen Cleaners to join the team at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, supporting our chefs by keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready to perform, shift after shift.



This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in the details others might overlook and enjoys being a key part of our busy, multi-faceted high-volume resort kitchens.

What you will do

You will perform a variety of tasks as assigned by the Chief Steward with a view toward developing into a skilled, efficient, safe and hygienic Kitchen Cleaner. The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards of all kitchen and food preparation areas within the resort. This role plays a vital part in supporting the culinary team by ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant working environment while adhering to food safety regulations and resort standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitise all kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, cool rooms, storage areas, and waste disposal stations.
- Remove rubbish and recycling and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organised.
- Follow all food safety, workplace health and safety, and infection control procedures.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
- Report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and safety hazards to supervisors.
- Support kitchen operations during peak service periods by maintaining a clean and organised work setting.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, industry regulations, and environmental sustainability practices.

What You'll Bring

- Previous cleaning or kitchen stewarding experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.




- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to assist where needed.
- Commitment to workplace safety and hygiene.
- Professional presentation and conduct.
- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Reliable and punctual.
- Exposure to hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
- Regular lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive movement.
- Rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- You will need a valid drivers licence as there is no public transport to the resort
