Intermediate Accountant | Tax & Business Services | Burwood

Looking for your next accounting role in a friendly and supportive firm?

We are a small but growing accounting practice based in Burwood , and we are looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team.

You’ll work with a varied portfolio of small and medium-sized clients and have the chance to manage accounting and taxation work from start to finish rather than being limited to one area.

What you’ll be doing
Preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
Preparing BAS and assisting with GST compliance
Working with clients on a range of taxation and accounting matters
Communicating directly with clients and the ATO
Using Xero Practice Manager and other leading accounting software
Managing your own workflow and deadlines while working as part of a supportive team

What we’re looking for
Minimum 2–3 years' Australian Tax and Business Services experience




Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and SME compliance requirements
Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
Sound knowledge of BAS and GST
Experience with Xero Practice Manager, Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Confident written and verbal communication
A friendly, approachable and positive attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively in Sinhala and English
