on a range of technologies spanning from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations and satellites to ships at sea in order to meet business needs.ResponsibilitiesThe Radar Mechanical Technical Officer will be responsible under supervision to provide technical services to ensure that the radar fleet used by the Bureau of Meteorology are supportable for operations.
This may include:Identifying obsolescence and performance risksDeveloping, testing and evaluating solutions to technical problemsWorking with vendors, maintenance staff and other stakeholders to support ongoing operationTo Succeed In This Role, You Will HaveProven ability to work within a team environment.Demonstrated experience in prioritising and managing numerous concurrent tasks.Strong communication and liaison skills.Enthusiasm and drive.Experience in maintenance and support of mechanical systems in an operational setting
