This role responsible for managing the people, processes and systems supporting Fund Services Investment Operations team which provides middle and back-office outsourcing services to investment managers and financial institutions.
The role involves the day-to-day management of the overall team, design and implementation of new products and services as well as managing client deliverables.Key Accountabilities and main responsibilitiesStrategic FocusManage and develop the Investment Operations team to build a high performing team with focus on Client Service Delivery, Operational Risk Management and Product and Service KnowledgePartner with business sponsors on business initiatives to develop new products and services for clientsDevelop a deep understanding of each client to ensure the firm is well placed for the provision of solutions and client serviceAccountable for delivery of continuous improvement project work to improve service quality and drive efficiency such as automationSeek to control costs by using cost management techniques/methods coupled with change controlAccountable for the Profit and Loss (P&L;) of the business unit, ensuring profitability while actively minimising and reducing Significant Income Contributions (SIC)Operational ManagementDrive a culture of service and operational excellence that promotes continuous improvement and identification of best practice across all teamsManage the daily delivery of services to clients driven by client SLA's and KPI'sIdentify, monitor, analyse and control business unit costs and outcomes to ensure they meet financial objectivesAccountable for ensuring client deliverables are completed on time whilst implementing controls to maintain a high standard of accuracy (and minimal to no errors)Provide senior leadership and direction to all operational managers and team members to ensure the development of a high-performing team, including coaching and development, effective performance reviews and quality selection decisionsManage and develop the Investment Operations team both locally and offshore in IndiaBuild a high performing and accountable team focused on client service delivery, operational risk management, product and service knowledgeManage and deliver end to end unit pricing functionFoster a highly engaged working environmentStaff performance management – manage, resource, motivate, develop and support the continuing personal & professional development of all team membersDevelopment and training of staff in accordance with operational objectives and core values of MUFG Pension & Market Services, contributing to succession planning and individual career development of the staffGovernance & RiskEnsure the development of a risk management culture,



and effectively limit risk exposure to MUFG Corporate Markets with strategies to mitigate riskImplement effective governance for business and systems changes within the teamResponsible for implementing quality assurance processes that drive the continuous improvementDefine quality objectives and standards for the Investment Operations team to measure and monitor client service delivery to KPIs and SLAsCreate risk mitigation strategies to anticipate, assess and resolve client service deliveryPromote a culture of risk and compliance awarenessEnsure that all MUFG Pension & Market Services information security policies, processes and procedures are followed, review of information security breaches, and periodic reviews of information security requirements for relevant business unit IT systems and processesThe above list of key accountabilities is not an exhaustive list and may change from time-to-time based on business needs.Experience & Personal Attributes10+ years of experience in a similar role and 5+ years of managerial experienceExperience from within the custody, investment administration or investment management industriesAccounting qualification (CPA, CA) is preferable, otherwise a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similarStrong financial product experience with an in-depth knowledge of securities / assets settlements, trade flow and custody of assetsExperience in managing P&L; statements to drive financial performance and ensuring operational profitabilityExperience in driving initiatives focused on simplifying and standardising processes (e.g. through automation) to enhance efficiency and promote smarter working practices is desirableStrong business acumen with proven ability to drive profitabilityGood working knowledge of corporate actions, mandate compliance and investment performance reportingAbility to lead multiple and diverse teams across various operational disciplinesExceptional leadership skills and capabilities – strong people leader.Risk management experience with a focus on development of controlsProficient in Microsoft Suite, leveraging tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to enhance productivity and streamline reporting processesAbout UsMUFG Pension & Market Services is a global, digitally enabled business that empowers a brighter future by connecting millions of people with their assets – safely,
