Maintenance Electrician – Food & BeverageMaintenance Electrician (Casual, 6 Months with Potential Ongoing) | Food & Beverage | MelbourneAbout the roleAPC Engineering is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team on a casual basis for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for ongoing work after that.
You'll support our food and beverage manufacturing clients across Melbourne and surrounds, keeping production lines running safely and efficiently in fast-paced processing and packaging environments.A current Victorian A-Grade electrical licence is mandatory for this role.Key responsibilitiesCarry out planned and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, production lines and automated systemsRespond to breakdowns and diagnose electrical, control and automation faults quickly to minimise downtimeFault-find PLC-controlled equipment and make minor approved changesMaintain and repair motors, VSDs, instrumentation, conveyors, pumps and packaging machineryTest circuits, components and systems with the right diagnostic tools and equipmentRecord all work in the client's CMMS and update drawings after any changesFollow food safety, hygiene and GMP requirements, including allergen and foreign-matter controlsFollow all site health and safety rules, including isolation and LOTO proceduresWork with production,



maintenance and engineering teams to find root causes and stop faults from recurringWhat we're looking forCurrent A-Grade electrical licence in Victoria (mandatory: applications without one will not be considered)Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Systems Electrician) or equivalentIndustrial maintenance experience, ideally in food, beverage, dairy or FMCG manufacturingStrong fault-finding skills in control circuits, motor control and industrial automationWorking knowledge of Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCsExperience with VSDs, instrumentation and SCADA/HMI systems.
