About the roleTerreco Resources is seeking a C&D; Waste Sorter to join our operations team in Burleigh Heads, QLD.
This is a casual position that plays a vital role in our waste management and recycling operations.
As a C&D; (Construction and Demolition) Waste Sorter, you will be responsible for sorting, processing and managing construction and demolition waste materials to ensure maximum recycling and recovery of valuable resources.
This position is fundamental to our commitment to sustainable waste management practices and environmental responsibility.Key responsibilitiesSort and separate construction and demolition waste into appropriate material categories including timber, metals, concrete, brickwork, plastics and other recyclable materialsOperate and maintain sorting equipment and machinery in accordance with safety guidelines and operational proceduresInspect waste materials for hazardous substances and handle contaminated items according to environmental and health and safety regulationsStack, store and organise sorted materials in designated areas to optimise storage space and ease of retrievalLoad and unload waste materials from vehicles using appropriate handling techniques and equipmentMaintain accurate records of waste processed and materials sortedAdhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all timesAssist in maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environmentReport any equipment faults, safety concerns or operational issues to supervisory staff promptlyWhat we're looking forPrevious experience in waste management, recycling,
construction or a related labour roleStrong physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks regularly throughout the working dayExcellent attention to detail and ability to accurately sort and categorise materialsCommitment to health and safety practices and willingness to comply with all workplace policiesAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a rapid-paced environmentBasic mathematical skills for record-keeping and material trackingReliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varying casual hours as requiredCurrent or willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as forklift operation, working at heights or hazardous materials handling (preferred)Valid driver's licence is advantageousWhat we offerWorking with Terreco Resources offers you the opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes through sustainable waste management practices.
