Side By Side Disability Services – Brunswick VICSide by Side Disability Services is seeking a calm, patient and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a 22-year-old non-verbal autistic man at home and in the community.He communicates through behaviour, body language, routines and visual supports.
We are looking for someone who understands complex communication needs and can provide consistent, respectful support.About the roleAssist with morning routines, personal care and community access.Use straightforward language, visual supports and structured routines to support communication and transitions.Follow established behaviour support strategies, recognise triggers and allow processing time.Respond calmly and safely when he is anxious or overwhelmed, including to behaviours such as wrist-grabbing.Work within a 2:1 support model initially.Maintain accurate progress notes and a safe,
