OSHC Group Leader - Early Childhood EducatorThe Southport School is a leading Anglican School for boys and offers an OSHC program as part of its Long Day Care service.We are currently seeking an experienced Group Leader (or above) qualified Early Childhood Educator to work alongside the OSHC Team Leader and Director of Preschool to deliver our OSHC and vacation care program for boys aged 4-12 years and who is available for the following shifts commencing as soon as possible.Weekday shifts (Monday to Friday, term time) 3.00pm - 6.00pm in OSHC – Part Time, Term Time ContractAdditional Full Time Contract Hours available in Vacation Care (Monday to Friday, school holidays) 7am - 3pm or 10am - 6pm depending on rosterKnowledge and Experience required:Self-motivated, with effective consultative, interpersonal, and supervisory skillsExperience interacting with groups of children from 4 - 12 years of age in a positive, sensitive and respectful mannerAbility to plan, develop, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs and documentationHave solid skills in guiding a team and supporting children with their behavioural needsPossess the ability to handle and respond to unforeseen accidents,



incidents and emergenciesAct professionally towards resolution of any conflict that may ariseHave a solid knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place and the Education and Care National Regulations and ActPossess great verbal and written communication skillsWell-developed emotional intelligence to be able to remain calm and composed at all timesAbility to positively build effective working relationships with stakeholdersWorking knowledge of Xplor is an advantage, but not essentialThis is a permanent part time, term time (not casual) position during the school term, with full time hours in the school holiday vacation care program, offering complimentary parking and access to our wonderful school facilities and wellbeing programmes.
Opportunity to grow and seek experience in our Preschool Classrooms as well.Candidates must hold a current Paid Blue Card, and a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care - a certified supervisor certificate (for Group Leader) is preferable.
