VitalCore Support Services – Toowoomba QLDDementia Care Queensland is looking for casual Disability Support Workers in Toowoomba to support a person living with dementia in their home.This is one on one support where consistency matters.
You will become a familiar, trusted face, helping them stay secure, comfortable and connected, and supporting them to live as independently as possible.What you'll be doingPersonal care delivered with dignity, including showering, dressing, grooming and continence supportPreparing meals, prompting fluids and supporting medication as set out in the care planLight household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, and keeping the home safe and familiarMeaningful activities, conversation and outings in the communityCalm reassurance and redirection through confusion, anxiety or late afternoon restlessnessFollowing behaviour support plans and responding to changed behaviours with patience and respectNoticing and reporting changes in health, mood or behaviourKeeping family and the care team in the loop and writing clear shift notesWhat we're looking forExperience supporting people living with dementia, in aged care,



disability or home careCertificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability), or equivalent experiencePatience, warmth and a gentle, unhurried approachCurrent NDIS Worker Screening Check (must be cleared before your first shift)Current First Aid and CPRFull driver's licence and a reliable, insured vehicleWhat we offer$41 to $45 per hour, paid weeklyDay shifts and sleepover shifts availableCasual employment under the SCHADS Award.
This is an employed role, not ABN or contractorFull induction and dementia specific training before your first shiftRefresher training every two months and monthly group supervision with a clinical psychologistRegular shifts with the same person, so you can build a genuine relationshipAbout usDementia Care Queensland is a specialist registered NDIS provider supporting people living with dementia and cognitive decline across Queensland.
