Aloft Restaurant & Restaurant Maria in Hobart, Tasmania are seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef to join our energetic team.
This is a full-time position based in our vibrant restaurant located in the heart of the Hobart waterfront.
As a Junior Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Senior Chefs during culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Applicants will need to be available to start by December ****.What you'll be doingAssisting Senior Chefs in daily preparation of mise en placeHelp in the running of cold and hot sections during dinner service and functionsMaintain strict standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchenEnsure the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, dry store and refrigeration areasCommunicate and work with our front of house group in order to deliver a high-level customer experienceCommunicate with customers seated at our kitchen bar about our food and the greater Tasmanian experienceWhat we're looking forMinimum 2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or be finishing a 4th-year Apprenticeship in a similar high-volume restaurant environmentProven track record of being hard working and adaptableKnowledge of food preparation and presentation with an enthusiasm to learn more from our Senior ChefsAn understanding of food safety regulations and best practicesPassion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishesExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the broader restaurant team and customersWhat we offerAt Aloft & Restaurant Maria we are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.
