Position: Mechanical FitterIndustry: Mining, Heavy Industry & Mechanical MaintenanceEmployment Type: Full-Time / Casual / Shutdown & Project-BasedLocation: Workshop and Client Sites – QueenslandM-Tech On-Site Machining & Maintenance Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to undertake mechanical maintenance, equipment repairs, installations and shutdown activities across mining and heavy industrial operations.The role involves providing hands‐on mechanical expertise to ensure the secure, reliable and effective operation of fixed plant and associated mechanical equipment.Working both independently and within site‐based maintenance teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical faults, carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, and supporting on‐site machining and mechanical repair activities.The position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship,



operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.Mechanical Maintenance & RepairsPerform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant and mechanical equipment.Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, crushers, screens, bearings, couplings and associated equipment.Undertake mechanical disassembly, inspection, refurbishment and reassembly of plant components.Conduct precision measurements, alignment and mechanical adjustments to manufacturer specifications.Perform bearing replacements, shaft repairs, coupling installations and equipment change-outs.Identify equipment defects, mechanical failures and potential reliability issues.Assist with fault finding and root cause analysis to minimise equipment downtime.
