About the roleThis is a 2IC role to the Payroll Manager, ideal for an experienced senior payroll professional ready for the next step.
You'll stay hands‐on with end‐to‐end payroll across weekly and fortnightly cycles, while being the go‐to person in a team for complex queries, award interpretation and problem‐solving.
You'll work closely with the Payroll Manager and step in for them when needed.
This role will allow you to focus on the technical side while broadening your experience and influence as a leader.What you'll be doingProcessing and reviewing weekly and fortnightly pay runs for ****employeesActing as 2IC to the Payroll Manager and deputising in their absenceBeing the go-to person for the team on complex payroll queries and award interpretationInterpreting and applying variousawardaccuratelyChecking timesheets, deductions and EOM reconciliations to catch issues before they become problemsEnsuring compliance and reporting obligations are met,



including STP and superannuationSupporting system enhancements and suggesting process improvementsAbout youStrong end-to-end payroll experience across multiple pay frequencies, ideally in a high-volume environmentConfident Award and/or EA interpretationA sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to fixing issues earlySomeone the team naturally turns to for answersA clear communicator who can explain payroll matters to managers and employeesWhat's on offerSalary will be dependent on experience $110,000 - $130,000 + superannuationA step up in responsibility and exposure for someone driven to one day be a Payroll ManagerExperience with a payroll system such as Micropay, SAP,iChris, Chris21 or AurionClose working relationship with an experienced Payroll Manager (ongoing coaching and mentoring)A supportive, professional team that takes pride in getting payroll rightFree onsite parking, employee perks and adaptable working hours
