Purchasing Logistics Officer Location: Forrestdale, WA Industry: Mining, Industrial Engineering Supplies Employment Type: Full-Time Start date: ASAP About the Opportunity Talent Mining is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and highly organised Purchasing Logistics Officer to join their team in Forrestdale, WA.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with experience in purchasing, procurement and logistics to join an established business servicing the mining, industrial and engineering sectors.
Working closely with the sales, projects and warehouse teams, you will play a key role in coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of equipment, parts and materials.
Key Responsibilities Purchasing Procurement Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and prepare purchase orders.
Monitor supplier lead times and follow up on outstanding orders.
Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
Identify opportunities to improve procurement costs and supplier performance.
Logistics Freight Coordination Coordinate domestic and international freight, deliveries and collections.
Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, transport providers and customs brokers.
Monitor incoming shipments and ensure deliveries meet operational requirements.
Review shipping documentation and maintain accurate freight records.
Resolve freight delays, delivery discrepancies and logistics issues.
Inventory Administration Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory and logistics records.




Work closely with warehouse personnel to coordinate incoming deliveries.
Assist with stock availability enquiries and order tracking.
Ensure purchasing and logistics information is accurately recorded in ERP systems.
Support process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Skills Experience To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or logistics.
Experience within mining, industrial equipment, engineering or a related industry (highly regarded).
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems.
SYSPRO experience will be highly regarded.
Exposure to international freight, shipping documentation and customs processes (desirable).
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to daily operations.
